The student's 3 performances this year were a culmination of two months of Saturday rehearsals, workshops, two wonderful and very informative Master Classes, and individual and group voice lessons in opera performance. SOCSA's Opera Night was an All-Orange County Invitational Concert and Fundraising Gala featuring select talented and award-winning young vocalists. For those selected, SOCSA Foundation provided Opera workshops, individual vocal lessons and master classes from Opera professionals. This year's event included over 40 performers from 6 Orange County High Schools, include the South Orange County School of the Arts at Dana Hills High School, South Orange County School of the Arts at Dana Hills High School, San Clemente High School, San Juan Hills High School, the Orange County High School of the Arts, Orange Lutheran and Irvine High School. All these students have benefited greatly from the superb guidance and artistic vocal instruction from SOCSA's Opera Night Program Director, Linda Rose Linnebach, SOCSA's Artistic Director, Ray Woods, SOCSA Opera Night Master Class teachers, Maestro Stefano Vignati from the International Lyric Academy in Rome/Virterbo and Gary Glaze, USC Professor of Vocal Arts and Opera. Their expert vocal coaching and advice to SOCSA's Opera Night young singers provided an immediate and long-lasting profound impact on the student performers. The SOCSA Foundation wishes to thank this year's SOCSA Opera Night Chairs, Amer and Rola Jneid, and their committee of dedicated volunteers for making this year's event a huge success!
